Rose Mountain Retreat Center

Rose Mountain is an inter-traditional retreat center located in a remote, stunningly beautiful, and ecologically balanced section of the mountains of northern New Mexico in the southern chain of the Rockies. The Center borders the Santa Fe National Forest at an elevation of 8,000 feet.

Since being founded as a non-profit educational center in 1987, Rose Mountain has offered week long and weekend retreats from a variety of spiritual disciplines and traditions including: Yoga, T'ai Chi, Judaism, Christianity, Islamic-Sufism, Buddhist Meditation, Native American teachings and practices, sacred dance, men's and women's groups, rites of passage groups for teenagers, environmental education retreats for Teens, and workshops in a variety of healing modalities.

The retreat season runs from mid-May to mid-October. Our programs seek to support the process of personal and cultural spiritual transformation and healing, and deepening our awareness of the sacredness of our lives and of all Creation. We can accomodate up to 20 retreatants at a time. These small numbers allow for a very personalized experience in an intimate setting. Facilities include a main building with a beautiful 600 square foot meeting space and an adjacent 400 square foot deck and dining room; our organic solar greenhouse; ceremonial tipi and sweat lodge, a beautiful shower house; and the teacher's cottage. For retreatants wishing private sleeping accommodations there are rooms in the main building, and fully furnished platform tents available.  For those wishing to camp, our camping area is very beautiful, spacious, yet close by to all the facilities. We generate all our own electricity through an efficient photovoltaic solar system, and make use of appropriate alternative technologies throughout the Center. Our professional cooking staff provides all the meals. The food is delicious, gourmet vegetarian, prepared and served with great skill and love. Most of the food we serve is organic. In addition to the programs which are open to the general public, we also welcome the use of our facilities and services by on-going groups.
